About the RCCP
The Residential Child Care Project is an international outreach, technical assistance, and training organization established in 1982 as part of the Family Life Development Center located in the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. Originally funded by the National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect in Washington, DC, the project disseminates model techniques and systems to prevent institutional child abuse and neglect through two major programs: Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and the Institutional Child Abuse (IAB) Project. The Residential Child Care Project has been invited to over 40 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, Russia, Australia, Ireland, Bermuda and the United Kingdom with its ongoing programs to improve the quality of crisis prevention and management in residential child care, and to reduce and ameliorate institutional abuse.
