TCI Trainer Support

The RCCP offers Trainer replacement materials, Student Workbooks, and Training Certificates for a fee for all courses. Materials are only available to certified TCI/TCIS/TCIF Trainers.

The TCI Certification Program is designed to develop, maintain, and strengthen the standards of training performance for individuals who have successfully completed the requirements of the five-day training of trainers programs in TCI, TCIF, and TCIS. The RCCP offers two levels of certification:

Associate Level Certification

Professional Level Certification

Continuing education credits for TCI coursework are currently offered ONLY to professionals in New York State:

  • New York State Social Workers — LMSW Contact Hours: Cornell University/Residential Child Care Project SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #309.
  • New York State Continuing Teacher and Leader Education – Contact Hours: Cornell University/Residential Child Care Project is approved by the New York State Education Department as a CTLE sponsor # 3460 pursuant to Section 80-6 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education.

TCI trainers who meet established TCI certification and training standards may be eligible to become professionally certified.

Professionally certified trainers may train TCI outside of their own agency for a fee.

TCI Organizational Support

Agencies and schools may contract with the RCCP to assess how well they have implemented TCI. The TCI Fidelity Process includes:

  • Cornell faculty collaborate with staff to examine the process and effectiveness of the TCI system that has been implemented.
  • RCCP faculty will recommend program improvements and technical assistance as appropriate.
  • Within 30 days after the on site visit, the agency or school receives a written report summarizing the assessment, including results of the TCI Fidelity Checklist and summaries of interviews and surveys.

Professionally Certified TCI Trainers

Organizations in need of a Professional TCI trainer to train their staff, should click on the map to bring up trainers in the desired region.

Child care organizations and schools that have met the highest TCI System implementation standards by completing the TCI Quality Improvement and Fidelity Assessment process are eligible to apply for TCI Agency Registration. Privileges of registration include:

  • acknowledgment as a TCI registered organization on the RCCP website
  • access to PDF files for all TCI Student Workbook materials
  • discounts on TCI materials, tuition for TCI training events, and on-site technical assistance
  • access to research studies
  • registration must be renewed every three years
